Stockton Unified School District's Early Childhood Education/School Readiness Department operates 53 State funded preschool classes, 37 Head Start classes, and three First 5 classes. Stockton Unified uses Frog Street curriculum and offers a program where children can develop intellectually, socially, physically and emotionally in a nurturing setting.
The Raising a Reader Take Home Book program is offered in many classes. SUSD offers many services to children and families enrolled in the preschool program.

First 5 funded classes are located at Fillmore, Henry, and Hong-Kingston Elementary Schools. Families must live within the school attendance zone to attend these preschools.
