Eligibility

Safety Council community courses are open to the public. Courses require the ability to read, write and understand spoken English in order to understand course content, instructor directions while on heavy equipment and to pass written competency exams.

Services

Safety Council offers the following training programs:

  • Mature Driver Safety (Online) for senior driver insurance discounts
  • DUI Programs
  • Forklift Operational Training provides the training card required by many employers to apply for warehouse and other job positions. The training meets OSHA requirements for basic training on a sit-down forklift and includes two hours of classroom training/two hours of hands-on training on a forklift
  • CPR/AED including adult, infant, and child CPR/AED - specialized programs for child care providers and healthcare professionals
  • First Aid including basic and pediatric. The council's pediatric first aid course is approved for child care providers and school bus drivers
  • Online Driver Safety Training for adult and juvenile traffic violators as well as corporate employees
  • Sexual Harassment/Abusive Conduct Prevention for supervisors and a version for employees is available as a private class only. These courses meet the requirement in California, for all businesses with 50 or more employees, to provide bi-annual training
  • Consulting Services for Workplace Safety including various occupational health, safety & regulatory trainings for supervisors and employees

Hours
Office hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.; and Monday through Thursday 1:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
