Eligibility

Resident of the locality providing funding prior to February 1, 2020.

Current income cannot exceed 80% of area median income (AMI) based on household size. Persons or households who have suffered a substantial loss in income as a result of any of the following:

  • Job loss
  • Reduction of compensated hours of work
  • Employer’s business closure
  • Missing work due to a minor child’s school closure; or
  • Other similarly-caused reason resulting in a loss of income due to COVID-19 and who is unable to pay rent as a result. Under this program, any person or household with a medical diagnosis of COVID-19 infection is considered eligible for assistance.

Services

COVID-19 Homeless Prevention Rental Assistance is based on need and income eligibility, such as:

  • Rent for the current month
  • Past due rent caused by the impact of COVID-19. (Past due rent prior to March 13, 2020, is not eligible for assistance under this program).

COVID assistance is currently only available to residents of the City of Lodi.
